Willy, the youngest of 3 brothers, was born to Adam and Anna Konrad in Brcko in the former Yugoslavia. During the war in 1944, they were evacuated by train to Austria, and he loved the Tyrolean Mountains. In 1946, they moved from a small village in Tirol to Grazk, the second largest city in Austria, where he finished high school and moved with his parents to Alsace, France, where he grew up to be a young man. At the age of 21 in 1956, he and his parents came to this country where his older brother, Adam, and wife Hilda lived since 1952. In 1956, he joined an apprenticeship program at Harnischfeger Corp. where he remained for 10 years. In 1958, his oldest brother, Frank, with his wife Therese came to this country and the whole family was back together again. In 1961, he married the love of his life, Lore. They were married for 53 years, and both loved and enjoyed a good life together, and traveled to some distant places. In 1966, he joined Master Lock Co. where he worked until his retirement in 1997 as Machine Repair and Builder, a job he found very challenging. Willy lived a good life until his sickness took him from us.
