Ruth Kivela, age 80, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at West Allis Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, having been a patient for a short time.
Ruth was born in Mass, Michigan on May 27, 1934 to William and Lydia Kivela. She is survived by her sister, Janice; nieces Lynn (friend Eddie), Heidi and Jayne who are all from Milwaukee. Further survived by other relatives and friends. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents William and Lydia Kivela. Her sisters; Leona, BettyMary and Joyce. And brothers; Billy, Leonard and Richard.
Ruth graduated from Mass High School in 1952. She began her secretarial employment at the General Motors building in Detroit, MI for Chevrolet Central Engineering, where she also got her sister, Janice, a job at graduation. In 1956, Ruth moved to Milwaukee, WI where she was a legal secretary for a number of years. Ruth retired from the Chrysler Corporation in Detroit in 1992.
Ruth enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, shopping, her apartment, visiting her home in Mass, MI yearly, spending time with her sister and niece Lynn, phoning her classmates and others, Las Vegas, and her great long-time friend, Elmer of Port Washington, WI and Oscar, the family cat.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home (12400 West National Avenue, New Berlin, WI 53151) on Saturday, February 28 from 1:00-4:00 PM. A Funeral Service and burial for Ruth will be held in the Spring in Ontonagon, MI which will be arranged by Cane Funeral Home.
