Billy Flanagan

Joined his parents, son and granddaughter, Monday, June 13, 2016, age 59. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Burks). Father of Rhea (Michael), (the late Shaun W.) and Salena , Step-Father of Timothy "Tim" and Lamtoro "Toro", Father in Law of Amber (Kendrick). Loved by 10 grandchildren, Brother of: (the late Edward), Joan (the late: Roger and Etta) and Jimmy (Vanessa). Brother in Law of ReDonna, Timothy (Tonya), Floyd (Talisa), Clarence( Heather), Sherman(Angela), Harold (Deniera), Son-in-Law of Harold, Brother "From Another Mother" Will, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives, co-workers, Steppin' Buddies and friends. Billy eagerly served in the U.S army as a radio teletypewriter Operator. After he retired, due to injury, he worked as a driver, cable installer/technician, and maintenance worker. While working his "dream job" as a Milwaukee County Parks and Highways Maintenance Worker he was diagnosed with Metastatic Colon Rectal Cancer and was forced into early retirement. Mr. Flanagan was very actively involved in his children's, grandchildren's and wife's educational, athletic and extracurricular activities. For many years he was a highly dedicated Relay for Life of Milwaukee Iron Man team member for American Cancer Society. Special Thanks to the Aurora Cancer Center Nurses: Mary D. and Mary S. and Pharmacy Staff: Jackie, Rachel and Ms. Miller, Aurora and StillWaters Therapy, Cancer Support Groups, and Internist Dr. Ankur Patel. The Froedtert Memorial Hospital Cancer Center TEAM: Yee Lan Wong, Ms. Mary and Gail, and the Hospital and Emergency Department, the Medical College of Wisconsin Students, Small Stones Wellness Center, Colon Cancer Support Group, and Art Therapy Center.
