Aspasia “Esther” A. Harris

Called to Heaven on Saturday, July 16 at age 91. Loving sister of Dr. John A. (Barbara) Harris and sister-in-law of Connie Harris. Preceded in death by her parents, Athanasios and Christina Harris, brother Peter Harris, sisters Helen and Bess, their spouses and her dear friend Greg Gregory. Further survived by countless godchildren, cousins and devoted friends, as well as three generations of adoring nieces and nephews. Esther, a lifelong resident of Milwaukee County, took every opportunity to travel across the Midwest, country and world, especially if it meant she could share a holiday or celebration with those she loved. She was always eager to share memories of several cherished trips to Greece, and visits to family there, including the last in 2011. Her devotion to every single member of her family never waned. Enthusiasm for her home state never wavered, especially for her alma mater, UW Madison, and the Packers. She had a particular and personal interest in real estate and took a special pride in her successful career as a broker which lasted well into her 80s. She loved her coffee, her daily paper and lunches at the Grecian Inn – but she made the best soupa in town. May her memory be eternal.

Visitation will be at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 9440 West Congress Street, on Wednesday, July 20, from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM. Funeral service at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorials appreciated to Annunciation Church or to the Helen Wilsmann Scholarship at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 800 West Main Street, Whitewater, WI 53190-1790.
