Before formal services, there is often an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects at an informal event similar to an open house. The deceased may or may not be present in a casket or urn.

Krause Funeral Homes provides comfortable rooms for visitations with plenty of space as well as private, family-only rooms where children may play or where family members may relax when they need refreshments or just a moment to themselves.

As the first funeral home in the state to acquire a license to offer in-house catering facilities with options including beer and wine, we have helped families plan visitations and receptions that have the comfortable feel of home or a private restaurant room.

Some choose visitations and receptions with buffet sandwiches, salads and soft drinks; others choose hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine right in the proximity of the visiting room.
