FAQs About Virtual Arranging

More Milwaukeeans than ever are reaching out to us here at Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service asking about their options for making funeral arrangements during the pandemic. Even as the world has turned upside-down, families still want to participate in planning a final farewell for their loved ones who have died, and to take part in the healing rituals of a visitation, funeral, and burial.

But there are obstacles. Some are worried about traveling and meeting in person. Others aren’t able to make it to our funeral home in time due to distance or illness or logistics. Our solution? Make arrangements virtually.

With virtual arrangements, our caring staff speaks with families online through live video conferencing as opposed to in person. Thanks to this amazing technology, we are now able to meet “face to face” with the homebound, families who are spread all over the country, and those who feel uncomfortable sitting down with us in person.

Many people in Milwaukee, New Berlin, and Brookfield have reached out to us about virtual arrangements, and we want to address the most frequently asked questions here. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact us anytime and we would be happy to provide you with answers.

Q.) I’m not good with technology. Do you think I can still manage to make arrangements virtually?

A.) Definitely! You can attend the consultation using any device, including computers, tablets, and smartphones. After deciding on a meeting time, we will send you a link and all you have to do is click on it for a face-to-face conversation.

Q.) I would like my daughter to join in the call, but she lives in Nevada. Is this still possible?

A.) Yes. Anyone can join in on the meeting online, whether they’re in the room with you or across the country.

Q.) What do I need to know before we get on our call?

A.) Our online planning checklist is a terrific resource so you can know exactly what information you need to be prepared.

Q.) How much does it cost to plan my own arrangements?

A.) Planning is free. Whether you’d like to make arrangements for yourself or a loved one, our experienced staff will guide you through all of the options for funerals, cremations, burials, receptions, and more. We will then keep a detailed list of all your plans on file at no cost.

Please contact us to set up a time to meet. Many families have told us how grateful they are for this virtual option when planning a tribute for their loved one. Those who have put their own arrangements in place have said they are surprised by how much peace they feel having their preferences in writing. When you turn to us, you can have confidence that your end-of-life wishes – or funeral plans for someone you love – will become a reality.
