History Feature: Krause’s Deep Roots in Milwaukee

At Krause Funeral Home, we take great pride in our deep roots in the Milwaukee community. We consider serving our neighbors during their time of need to be our greatest calling and responsibility. Our dedicated staff furthers this legacy every day by offering families throughout Milwaukee County trustworthy and dependable funeral and cremation services.

Our family’s Milwaukee roots

We are proud to be a family-owned and -operated funeral home that’s served our community in Milwaukee, New Berlin, and Brookfield for over 80 years. As a fourth-generation funeral director, Mark Krause continues his family’s legacy of excellence, providing funeral and cremation services to over 1,300 families a year. Mark’s brother, Gregg, has been vice president of our funeral home since 1999, and his daughter, Nicole, serves as a funeral apprentice at Krause. Our youngest family member, our grief therapy dog, Bennie, plays a vital role in our grief support services for area families.

Our history of serving families

We’ve always been proud of providing families with dedicated and trustworthy funeral services. With every funeral we plan, we focus on every detail, from the flower arrangements at the reception to selecting the casket for burial. We offer a number of personalization options so your family can celebrate your loved one’s unique life story.

Our connection to our community

At Krause, our experienced team knows that sometimes families require extra support outside our funeral home, whether it’s choosing a burial location or connecting with a local grief support provider like a mental health counselor. We are proud of our strong relationships with community support groups, healthcare organizations, and housing providers. We are committed to helping families heal after a significant death occurs.

Our participation in local events

Staying active in the community throughout the year is another way our funeral home deepens its roots in Milwaukee, New Berlin, and Brookfield. We offer free preplanning seminars and lunches at each of our four locations. At these gatherings, families can learn about the importance of making funeral arrangements ahead of time while sharing a meal together.
