Angeline T. Birno “Angie” (nee Gallenberg)-of Menomonee Falls. Entered the arms of the Lord, on Saturday, October 30, 2021, age 92. Loving Mother of James, Susan (Albert) Hembel, Cynthia (Stephen) Gilleski and John (Laurie). Dear Grandma of Brenda Birno (Cory White), Brian (Cher), Beth (Lucas) Marthaler, Adam Hembel, Andrew (Jackie) Hembel, Ashley (Randy) Thull, Jeremy (Sarah) Kelnhofer, Justin (Angela) Kelnhofer, Dave Gilleski, Jessica (Daniel) Hass, Steven Birno (Courtney Marks) and Matthew (Lindsey) Birno. Great Grandma of Dustin (Payton) Birno, Anthony Birno, Landon Birno, Lilianna Marthaler, Ryan Thull, Ashlyn Thull, Angelena Thull, Reeve Thull, Jared Kelnhofer, Kylee Kelnhofer, Vanessa Vernatter, Damiyan Walter, Jensen Hass, Kallan Hass, Declan Hass, Athena Hass and Matalyn Birno. Sister-in-law of Frances Gallenberg and Dorothy Gallenberg. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert Birno, parents, Albert and Minnie (nee Stauber) Gallenberg, siblings, Edna Gallenberg, Evelyn (William) Zingg, Arthur (Martha) Gallenberg, Anton Gallenberg, Clara (Jack) Kryka, Joseph (Mary) Gallenberg and Robert Gallenberg.

 

Angie lived on a farm near Antigo. While growing up, she attended Neff Switch School in Langlade County and helped out on the family farm. At the age of 14, she left home to babysit her niece and nephew. She then worked at John Oster Company in Milwaukee. She married her husband, Wilbert E. Birno “Whitey” or “Tick” on October 7, 1950 and became a stay at home mom.

 

She enjoyed dancing, gardening, baking, sewing, playing cards and woodworking projects. She loved being with family and friends, and didn’t want to miss out on any celebration that occurred. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

 

Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin 53072, Sunday, November 14, 2021, 2:00 PM – 4:45 PM. Celebration of Life at 5:00 PM. Burial will be held privately at Wood National Cemetery.

From the time I was a young child, Aunt Angie was an inspiration to me. She was beautiful, always impeccably dressed, fun, witty, strong, gracious, and she could dance circles around everyone! In fact, at all of the family celebrations it was a highlight to look forward to. She taught so many things without even saying a word. I will always remember how animated and happy she was, and how happy she made everyone else around her (even if she made the grouches dance!). Thank you Aunt Angie, for a life well-lived and an example for us to follow.
