Anna Mae Anderson, 97, of Brookfield, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on November 18, 2022. Born the third child of John and Anna Tuecke on the family farm on Pleasant Ridge in Clayton County, Iowa on December 1, 1924. Anna Mae was a daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend to so many people whose lives she touched. She was fiercely loyal and devoted to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her family.
After graduating high school with a Normal Training Diploma Anna Mae taught 6 students of various grades in a one room school house.
At the age of 19 Anna Mae and her sister Norma moved to Milwaukee to find work. Anna Mae worked for Delta Manufacturing until she met her husband, Art Anderson at The Eagles dance club. On September 8, 1945 they were married and proceeded to have four children. Eventually they moved from Shorewood to Brookfield where they were both instrumental in the founding of Brookfield and involved in many community organizations. Anna Mae was a charter member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Brookfield, WI where she also was a Sunday school teacher, member of the altar guild and chair of the Cradle Roll. Church and school were Anna Mae’s main focus after her husband and children.
Anna Mae loved life and loved her family. She was always happy to see you and made you feel at home whenever in her presence. Her many interests included all sorts of needlework, traveling, reading, dancing, golfing, playing bridge and hosting family parties.
She is survived by four children, Robert (Lissa) Anderson, Katherine (Frank) Mehnert, William (Susan) Anderson and Christine (Marti) Wolever; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur.
The greatest gift Anna Mae gave to her family was the love of the Lord , and in turn the wings to fly. We will be forever grateful.
A Memorial Service will be held at Luther Manor, Faith & Education Building, 4545 North 92nd Street, Wauwatosa, WI 53225 on Sunday, November 27 at 2:00 pm. Parking is available on the north side of Luther Manor.
