Passed away Friday, October 4, 2019. Age 67. Beloved husband of Kristine Walker-Buechler. Dear father of Britanni Weiss and father-in-law to Herbert Weiss. He was loved and is survived by many other family members and friends.
Tony was born on August 6th, 1952 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduating from The University of Iowa Medical School, he moved to Milwaukee and completed residencies in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Anesthesia where he remained and practiced anesthesia for over 36 years. During that time, he became certified by the FAA as an Aviation Medical Examiner and served as a flight surgeon in the 128th Air Refueling Wing of the Wisconsin Air National Guard, based in Milwaukee. Tony’s contributions to medicine and aviation were far-reaching. He touched and protected so many lives in the operating room as well as in the air with his knowledge and experience. As a Lifetime EAA and Warbird member, his dedication to the preservation of WWII history and Veterans of all foreign affairs was unsurpassed. Tony was a unique person: compassionate and generous with his time volunteering his medical services in mission trips to Cuba, Haiti, and Yugoslavia and using his airplane for a wide range of activities including philanthropic purposes. Everything Tony did was to the highest standard, never compromising professionalism and perfection as a doctor, a pilot and aircraft owner. Above all, Tony loved his family and looked forward to grandchildren.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at Stein’s Aircraft Services – Waukesha County Airport, 2651 Aviation Drive, Waukesha, Wisconsin, Saturday, October 26th, 2019 from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
