Athanasia Maillis

(Nee Ligdis) Passed away on Friday, August 26, 2022, at the age of 98. Loving wife of the late Nikolaos Maillis. Mother of Dimitri (Nicolette) Maillis. Grandmother “Yiayia Soula” of Christos, Sotirios, and Athanasia. Survived by her brother Christos in Greece, and many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Athanasia was born June 19, 1924 in Greece to Demetrios Ligdis and Eleni Ligdis (nee Mihos). Athanasia had a long career as a seamstress in Greece and America. She always worked very hard. After retiring, she spent a lot of time chasing after her grandchildren. She liked gardening and cooking delicious Greek food.

Visitation at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 2160 North Wauwatosa Avenue, Wauwatosa, Wisconsin on Friday, September 2, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. Service at 11:00 AM. Burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park.
