(Nee Brown) Passed on to Eternal Life on Friday, January 9, 2009, age 70, joining her beloved son, Jason Clayton Bender in heaven. Loving mother of Lisa (Wiley S.) Adams and the late Jason Clayton (Lisa) Bender. Doting and beloved grandma of Wiley III, Elizabeth and Catherine Adams and Myesha Bender. Caring great grandma of Valerie Adams. Beloved daughter of Frank Brown and the late Elizabeth Crape. Barbara cherished and cared for her dapper and distinguished father, Frank Brown, until she passed on to Eternal Life. Barbara was also loved by a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home Friday, January 16, 4:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral Mass at BLESSED TRINITY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 4717 North 38th Street, Saturday, January 17, at 11:00 AM. Entombment Wisconsin Memorial Park. Barbara had a brilliant mind and a passion for helping others. She focused her creative energy on securing warm adoptive families for children as her first job after receiving her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Wisconsin. She went on to embrace the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee community in her role as Director of Financial Aid, where she approached helping her students obtain college financing with the same fervor that she approached all of her endeavors. Barbara continued her trail-blazing career path as Secretary of the Board of the Metropolitan Milwaukee Sewage District. Later she focused her creativity, energy and initiative on building an innovative recycling business, BAB, Inc. Barbara excelled at A.C.B.L. Bridge tournaments and enjoyed traveling in her retirement. She embraced life with a remarkable passion and ended her life with exceptional courage and grace.
