As I read the posted condolences I realize that not only was Barb special to me, but to so many others. 50 plus years of laughter, get-togethers, and talks (plus we sang a lot) - what wonderful memories. We watched our children grow up, helped each other out when times were tough, vacations together, and knew that we would be there for each other when needed. Big kind heart, a joy and comfort that radiated from her presence and always willing to go have fun. Keith and I are so glad that we visited them both in May. I will always miss her, but so glad that she is in a better place - no pain, and with her Mom and Dad. Pat: take care of yourself - take time to heal from your loss of Barb, and know that our home is always open to you and our friendship will never be gone.

I remember when Pat brought Barb home to meet his family. She had us all at “hello”. We fell in love with her big, blazingly bright smile and her kind, open manner. Over the past twelve years or so Fred and I spent time with Barb and Pat in Door County every other year or so. It was a treat every time, laughing with them and sharing their love for the food and culture and natural beauty of Da Nort country. I treasure the connection we had with them. I’m grateful to have been a part of Barb’s family. I will miss her deeply.

I worked with Barbara in Brown Deer. She was a wonderful person and teacher. I am sending a donation to the Heart association in memory of Barbara. She had a heart of gold .

Barbara, was a true saint as is her husband Patrick. I can only agree with all the posted descriptions of Barbara: kind, generous, upbeat, sincere, loving and all the other wonderful things said about her. My pastor has often said that the Christian life is a life of service. This describes not only Barbara but Patrick as well. We all know that she is free of pain now, and watches over us as she watched over those who needed her during her life.

What a true blessing Barb was to the entire family. I am married to her cousin Chuck Stelzner. This has hit him especially hard as he always said, she was the angel in our family. She took all of life's curveballs and made them into blessings with the magic wand of her heart. So thoughtful and loving in everything that she did in her life. I know she will remain a true Packer fan, rooting for her team from heaven with her cowbell❤
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

I agree with all the comments posted. She was my niece-in-law, and one of my favorite people. So is Pat. the other half of this great couple. They are and were always special as part of the Mitten family. My condolences from me and my family too.

What a beautiful EARTH ANGEL my dear friend Barb was. I will never forget when I first arrived at Dean School starting my new position. Barb reached out with her big heart and took me under her ever sheltering wing. We were instantly connected and became "sister friends"over the last 30 yrs. Barb was clearly a Bright Light on this Earth. ️Her selfless devotion to her family and friends was neverending. She gave with all her heart and saw the good in everyone. I know she has left enduring footprints on my heart, and all of us blessed to have known the gift of her compassionate and empathic love. Rich and I send our sincerest sympathy out to Pat, Katie, Kayla , Nyrie and Emma, Michael and Cathi, David, Mary, William and Ann Marie. ..and all her extended family. I know your loss is great...She is forever your "Angel in Heaven" now. God knows her purpose in loving and making a difference on this Earth has been faithfully done. Goodbye to my dear" sister-friend." I'm so grateful that God blessed us with each other.

This was one of my favorite pictures of you! We had such a great “Girls Day” at the spa with the twins! I remember being so excited to surprise you with this! You did so much for us, all of us, and always made our family your number one priority. I couldn’t have asked for a better Mom and best friend. Thank you for choosing me, and for loving me through it all. I will forever be missing one of the biggest and greatest pieces of me now that you’re gone. I love you to the moon and back Mom. Enjoy Heaven! You deserve all the peace in the world.
