(Nee Wirth)surrounded with love by her family, she passed peacefully entering into Eternal Life on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Born on January 17, 1924, to Franklin and Dorothy Wirth. Sister of Willard (Eleanor) Wirth. She was preceded in death by her beloved husbands, Frederick J. Henkel and Norman D. Lasky. Loving, devoted mother and an inspiration to her daughters, Sharon (Jerry) Eiff, Cheryl Henkel and Lonna (Rick) Kannenberg. Dearest Nanny to her cherished grandchildren, James (Karen) Eiff, Jordan Eiff, Jared Eiff, Michelle Kannenberg, and Bridgette Kannenberg. Further survived by special family, including dear cousins and friends. The family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to her physician, Dr. Stephen Haughey, and the physicians and staff of Froedtert Hospital, including the neurology and palliative care teams. Special appreciation is also expressed to Pastor Dorothy Palmer. Bernice was a longtime member of the former Immanuel Reformed U.C.C. Bernice was generous, kind and compassionate to family and friends. She loved life and celebrated each day. She loved her family dearly, and cherished family gatherings. Visitation at the funeral home Tuesday, February 16, 4-7 PM. Funeral service 7 PM. Interment Pinelawn Memorial. Memorials appreciated to Children's Hospital or the Ronald McDonald House.
