Betty Lou Brooks (nee Tibbits) of Milwaukee went to be with her Heavenly Father, Jan 23, 2023. Age 97.
Born on Jan. 20, 1926, the 4th of 8 children, to Leonard and Irene Tibbits (nee Gavigan), she was the last of her siblings, Robert, Lorraine, June, Richard, Audrey, Ronald, and Patricia, to depart from this earth.
Married on October 30,1948 for 59 years to Ronald Brooks “Ronnie”, who passed away Dec. 22, 2007. Ronald proudly served in the US Army Air Corps (WW II) with the 316th Troop Carrier Group. He was a crew chief on a C-47.
Betty is survived by her 8 children Mike (Anita), Joe (Barb), Pat (Donna), Dave, Mary (Doug) Furnier, Ann (Dan)McCarthy, Bonnie (Rick) Erpelding, Peter (Nancy), as well as 26 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Betty retired from Marshall Fields as a Telecommunication Supervisor after 22 years. She loved watching song birds and sunflowers out of her kitchen window when she wasn’t sewing. Mom was strong, brave and showed love and kindness to everyone who stepped into her life, especially towards all of her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered by her wit, intellect, and funny zingers.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield on Monday, January 30, 2023 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Additional visitation at St. Margaret Mary Parish, 3970 North 92nd Street, Milwaukee, WI 53222, on Tuesday, January 31 at 10:00 AM. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
God wanted messengers of love on earth, therefore he created Mothers.
Betty was the Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother every kid wished they had! Her heart was full of unconditional, forgiving love.
