Brenda Suzanne Schultz “Buma” was born in New Orleans September 3, 1939. Lovingly raised by the late Ralph and Laura Loeffler, she and her late brother Barry lived in Wauwatosa attending McKinley, Longfellow and Wauwatosa HighSchool. She went on to graduate from UW- Madison with a degree in early education.
She later married and had two adoring daughters Laura Schultz Barry and Cathy Schultz Knight. She was further blessed with son-in-law Tom Knight, 5 grandchildren; John (Emily) Revord, Jennifer (Chris) Revord Walter, Taylor Barry (Ben Moorman), Andrew (Paige) Knight and Tamra (Mark) Knight Deree. Adding to her joy were 5 great grandchildren Aiden Revord, Sophia & Elijah Walter, Ava Deree and Maren Knight. Grateful for the many more people who brought love and joy to Buma throughout her life. A special thanks to former son-in-law Jim Barry, Harwood Place’s Beth Wishau, Anna Van Brunt and her loving staff. Thank you to Chaplain Colson Leach of Compassus. And an extra special thanks to Carrie Tittl from Compassus Hospice who was at Bumas’ side for the last 3+ years. She was the angel that guided her through this health journey affording her grace, humor and comfort. We will forever be grateful.
Buma’s love of design- both interior and landscape was evident. Over the last 37 years she turned her Tosa Cape Cod into a charming, cozy abode surrounded by beautiful gardens. Buma was passionate about her roots in New Orleans and the ancestral history of the Destrehan Plantation & Harvey Canal. Other loves she had were for teddy bears, the Packers and the Badgers!
As Buma touched all of us in so many ways, “Y’all” join us on June 12th, 2022 for a Celebration of Life. It will be at The Cooperage, 822 South Water Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Bring a “Buma-ism”- a memory, a laugh, a warm thought….
In memory of Buma’s volunteer work, please consider donating to The Ronald McDonald House in lieu of flowers.
