Born on May 1, 1926, in Oak Park, Illinois, to James and Elizabeth Mahan. Married 60 years to Roger Laubenheimer, MD, who predeceased Carrie by 11 years. She is survived by her four children: William “Bill” (Carole), Nancy (Brian) Leahy, Kurt, and Ann (Bret) Larget; seven grandchildren: Parker (Kathryn) Hoerz, Carson (Justin) Smith, McCall (Jerome) Bauersfeld; Riley, Elizabeth, Greta, and Jacob Larget; and four great grandchildren: Henry, Oliver, and Amelie Hoerz; Ford Bauersfeld. Also predeceased by her sister, Janet Sanders; brother-in-law, Miles Laubenheimer and sister-in-law, Naomi Laubenheimer.
Graduate of UW-Madison (BA, Economics, 1948), Univ. of Michigan (MSW, geriatric emphasis, 1955). A founding employee of the Congregational Home, Carrie worked as Director of Social Services and Admissions Director (1974 – 1997) and resided at the Home (2009-2022). Member of First Congregational Church of Wauwatosa for 50 years. Also participated in Pi Beta Phi Alumnae, Mortar Board Alumni, United Way, Laubach Literacy Center, Family Service Association, and Visiting Nurse Association.
