(Nee Gebhard) of New Berlin, WI passed away peacefully on November 19th at the age of 74. She was the first daughter of Gerald and Ilo Gebhard. On August 3rd, 1963, she married the love of her life and devoted husband, Thomas Feierstein. Together they had four children and were blessed with 55 years of marriage. Cathy will be missed by her four children: Robert (Gail); Lori (Chris Pasbrig); John (Michelle); Jim (Hillary Anderson); her grandchildren: Kyle and Randi Feierstein; Caitlyn Pasbrig; Gabriella and Brianna Feierstein; Parker Anderson; her sister Barbra Rounkle and brother Thomas (Roxanne) Gebhard; loving niece Ann Marie Rounkle (Cameron and August Fase). She was preceded in death by her brother Bobby Gebhard.
Cathy will be fondly remembered for her love of baking. She especially loved spending time in the kitchen with her grandchildren. She enjoyed the time with the grandkids almost as much as they enjoyed the sampling. Cathy cherished the opportunity to make Christmas memorable for everyone in the family. It wasn’t uncommon to spend hours opening her hand-selected gifts. She was a voracious reader and over the course of her life collected a library that she loved to share. Cathy found joy in discovering new and unique destinations. She and Tom developed a love for Door County. Cathy had many hobbies, but her favorites were gardening, crocheting and needlepoint. Cathy gave back to her community by volunteering at Holy Apostles School, Scouting, and La Casa.
After raising her family, Cathy continued to follow her passion for helping people by returning to school. She graduated from the Waukesha County Technical College with an associate’s degree as a Surgical Technologist. She worked in the industry until retiring to help take care of her parents.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Holy Apostles Catholic Parish, 16000 West National Avenue, New Berlin, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM.
A special thank you to the staff at Allay Hospice and the Memory Care Nurses at Waterford Senior Living for all of the loving care you provided for Catherine.
In lieu of flowers, Cathy and her family would appreciate donations be made to St. Jude’s Hospital or the Milwaukee Rescue Mission in her memory.
