Catherine A. Segedi

Died peacefully, Saturday, January 12, 2019. At the age of 81. Beloved wife of the late Robert Segedi. Dear mother of Sue (Scott) Farrell, Cheryl (Kurt) Kuhne, and Robert (Kristina) Segedi. Proud grandmother of Matt (Ashley), Melissa, Kristin Farrell, Jessica (Dan) Freund, Sean, Jacob Kuhne, Anthony, and Nathaniel Segedi.Preceded in death by father, Joseph, mother, Teresa, husband, Robert, and sister, Angeline.

Catherine was born and raised in Upper Michigan, the daughter of Joseph & Teresa Bertino.  She met Robert Segedi while he was in the service and they married in 1960.  Catherine worked as an early education teacher. Catherine & Robert had 3 children, Sue, Cheryl and Bob. They moved to Cudahy, WI in 1968, where Robert was employed by AC Delco in Oak Creek.  Catherine continued to volunteer as a preschool teacher at St Frederick’s Church in Cudahy, but committed most of her time to her family.  Catherine was dedicated in her faith and love of family.  She had an uncanny way to make everyone around her feel loved and special with her caring instincts and selfless acts of kindness. To anyone that got to know her she quickly became known as “Mom” and later “Grandma”.  In her later years Catherine endured the complications of health issues with a positive attitude, and thoroughly enjoyed her time with family and friends.  She was passionate about following all of her local sports teams.  She rarely missed a Packers, Brewers, Bucks, Badgers or Marquette game.  In her last days she was able to be with family, her most important treasures, and was comfortable.  As we celebrate her life, we have comfort in knowing she is being well taken care of and has joined her husband of 50 years.  Her memories will always be dear to our hearts as we know she will continue to watch over us for the rest of our days.

Visitation on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 12700 West Howard Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin. Mass of Christian burial at 6:00 PM. Private burial.
