Charles D. Ramstack (Charly) of New Berlin, Wisconsin entered eternal life unexpectedly on Thursday, October 28, 2021, after a year long and still undiagnosed illness. His spirit is carried on by his beloved wife of 50 years Sue, loving children Molly, Christian (Kelly), Dayna; granddaughter Hayley and MANY additional family and friends.
Coming from a family of 10 children, Charly was born August 16, 1951, grew up in Elm Grove, Wisconsin and was a 1970 graduate of Catholic Memorial High School. He attended Waukesha County Technical College, UW-Waukesha and Marquette Universities and went on to become a successful Entrepreneur and Business Owner. Charly retired in 2013 and continued his passion for Remodeling and Carpentry Projects.
We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Charly, who was our friend and mentor, during his 70 years, among them: Duct tape can fix anything and works great as a band-aid, The Rolling Stones are the greatest Rock-n-Roll band in the World; Music must be played at 80 decibels with a minimum of 50 speakers throughout the house; Never leave a cookie unattended as it will always disappear; You have a right to call a pause when watching a movie; Hiccups will eventually go away and always respond to a question with “HUH?”
Charly was an action movie buff, music afficionado and loved to dance. He enjoyed cookouts and parties with family and friends and was the man who could fix anything from a skinned knee to building a “Portio” and everything in between. He was the cool guy in the room, his laugh was contagious, his humor sarcastic and to know him was to love him. Charismatic and fun, caring and generous – his legacy will be missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.
