Chuck and I met at Harvard Business School in the 60s. He was smart, funny and a wicked touch football player. We have run into each other over the years and Chuck has never changed; always the wonderful, friendly and accomplished person I met so long ago. Sandy and I send our condolences to Cheryl and to Chuck's entire family. I will miss a good friend.

Chuck was a wonderful man. Talented but humble. Incredibly kind. Filled with energy and humor. A great friend and colleague. I and the rest of the team at DOOR USA had the enormous privilege of working with him for the past several years, and now he is gone all too soon. We miss him very much. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you, his family and friends.

CHUCK WAS MY FAVORITE BOSS. HE WAS KINDEST, HAPPIEST PERSON I KNEW. HE WAS ALWAYS SPEAKING OF HIS FAMILY AND HOW PROUD HE WAS OF THEM. WE HAD A JOKE BETWEEN US. EVERY MORNING I WOULD GREET HIM "GOOD MORNING MASTER". HE WOULD LAUGH SO HARD AND TURN RED. THEN I WOULD ASK HIM HE REQUIRED HIS POPPY SEED MUFFIN AND I WOULD TEASE HIM ABOUT THE IT BEING AN OPIATE. HE WOULD LAUGH HARD AGAIN. I COULD JOKE WITH HIM. LAUGH OUT LOUD WITH HIM AND ENJOY HIS HARVARD STORIES. I'VE MISSED HIM SINCE THE DAY HE LEFT CALHFA. MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH HIS FAMILY. WITH LOVE AND RESPECT. RIP CHUCK. TILL WE MEET AGAIN.

Cheryl, Mary, Matt, Clark, and Dick, Please accept my most sincere condolences. Chuck’s passing has been a shock to all of us who had the pleasure of knowing him. As one of his many King family cousins, I always came away from my conversations with him with a smile on my face. His sense of humor was infectious. The family “Harvard Hero” has left us all better off for having had him in our lives.
John Mattix (Chuck's Cousin) left a message on January 8, 2019:
Chuck was a jovial, loving, & caring cousin. He kept the competitive spirit alive between our many families. He was always fun to be around; and we will miss him. I am sure that up above he is hugging his Mom (Aunt Margaret) and has already played 18 holes of golf with his Dad (Uncle Bud). This is not Goodbye Cousin Chuck, as we will meet again somewhere down the road! PS We all know that you were the "Best Looking Cousin"!!!!!!!
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

Deepest sympathy for Chuck's passing. Our feeling is drawn from our appreciation for his man-sized intellect and more for his warm big heart. We must know that it is not without hope we suffer and we mourn. Looking back, we realize we weep for that person who has been our delight to know.
