"Chuck" Age 72, was called to the Lord unexpectedly on January 9, 2010. He was a devoted husband to his wife Marilyn (Hansen); loving father to son, Michael Davis (Sylvia) and daughter, Laura Liebe (Jayme); and a very special "Bumpa" to five wonderful grandchildren, Brandyn Liebe, Bryce Davis Liebe, Meaghan Liebe, Michael J. Davis and Nicholas Davis. Also survived by other family members, Andrew Hansen, Mark and Carlene Hansen, Andy and Bobby Hansen, and his former wife Sandra Marquardt (Rathke); many, many cousins and dear old friends. He was fondly known as "Uncle Chuck" or "Skippy" to his family and friends. He is preceded in death by close relatives and a friend including his mother Gertrude Collison, his brother Danny, and one of his best friends, Ted Bindrich. Chuck's early career was with the AAA Automobile Association, where his skill as a salesman was launched. In 1981 he joined the Greater Milwaukee Convention and Visitors Bureau, where his talent in sales was perfectly matched with his passion for his hometown of Milwaukee. He sold Milwaukee as a convention destination until he retired in 2003. He leaves behind a legacy of connections with groups around the nation that were introduced to what the Milwaukee area offered as a convention destination. He was fondly called, "Mr. Milwaukee". Chuck was an active member of the Delafield-Summit Lions Club and proudly served his community. Chuck was also passionate about music and very proud to claim Irish heritage. He spent many years as a member of the Milwaukee Choristers and easily entertained those around him with his love of the guitar and the songs in his heart. Loved by everyone who knew him for his incredible talent to tell stories and jokes, most often with the help of an Irish brogue. Everyone who knew Chuck is asked to celebrate his life with memories of his fun loving nature and his passion for meeting new people. A Memorial Service and "Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1600 Genesee Street, in Delafield. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM with the service beginning at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Chuck's honor is being established by the family to carry forward his wishes.
