Becky Mahan left a message on September 18, 2019:
Even though I didn't see my aunt Charlotte often, she always sent me very thoughtful cards and letters that I have kept and will cherish. I'm grateful I got to talk with her at her house last winter and this past June. Like everyone, I wish there had been more time. Pam and Candace, we're thinking of you and your families as you grieve the loss of your gentle and giving mom. Love to you all.

I knew Char when her girls were just babies in Milwaukee. She and Jim had such a loving family. They were nice to me when I was alone in Milwaukee.. I recall going on a road trip with them to Horican Marsh to see all the birds in fall. RIP Char, you will be missed
