(Nee Anderson) was born in French Camp Mississippi to Tom and Ethel Anderson (nee Clark) on April 29, 1936.
She attended Ackerman High School in Mississippi before marrying Theodore R. Dotson of McCool, MS. on January 20, 1953. Their union produced five children: Kathy A. Childs, Dorothea Callahan (Roosevelt), Clifford Dotson (Dolores), Lynn Lehr (Mitchell), and Larita R. Bowman (Jermaine) all of Milwaukee, WI. Special mention to our older brother Jerry Dotson (Ora) of Gary, IN, (born to Theodore) whom she also loved as her own.
Cloteal was a loving, devoted mother who dearly loved life, the Bible, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also loved gardening, plants, fishing, bowling, and a good game of cards. Throughout her life she often worked as a seamstress, and worked tirelessly along with Theodore to afford their children opportunities that they themselves did not have. She loved people, and had the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, no matter who they were. If you wanted a laugh or a good story or two, she was the one to talk to.
On July 30, 1963, she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. In addition to being a wife and mother, she devoted countless hours as a volunteer teaching others the Bible. After retiring she continued to have a zealous share in this volunteer ministry as long as she was physically able.
We, as her children are proud to call her our Mama. She was very special to us, and had the unique ability to stir hope within us when we needed it. When our faces were against the wind, she stepped in front and took the brunt of it; although teaching us lessons along the way.
She was truly a beautiful lady whom we dearly loved.
As her children, we will forever carry a part of her in within us. Those parts together will make us firm, and make us strong, it makes us family.
Memorial Service at KINGDOM HALL OF JEHOVAH'S WITNESS, 5747 North 29th Street, Saturday, December 21, 1:00 PM.
