(Nee Shanahan) Passed away on March 29, 2021 at the age of 74. She was born December 8, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI to John and June (Sauer) Shanahan.
She married the love of her life, Ron Krajcik, on May 11, 1968. She was a loving and devoted mom to Nick and Michele (nee McDonald), Tanya and Mike Stotler, Anna Krajcik, Katee and Mark Holcomb, Joe and Amanda (Trzebiatowski). She was an incredible grandma to Michael and Chloe Stotler and Ollie and Hilde Holcomb.
Further survived by siblings Paul Shanahan, Tim and Kristy Shanahan, Joan Terry, Caroline and Andy Koch. She is further survived by brother and sister in laws, cousins, neices, and many other family and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents John and June Shanahan, her brother Kevin Shanahan, her nephew Robert Shanahan, her in-laws Phyllis and Michael Krajcik, and son-in-law Paul Griffin.
Colleen graduated from Pius High School and pursued her love of children through working at Sherman Park Preschool as an aide, teacher and administrator. While raising 5 children of her own, she earned her degree from UW- Milwaukee in Early Childhood Education and eventually received her Master’s degree. She devoted her career and passion to her students at Clarke Street school for 20 years. Teaching and helping children learn was the passion of her life.
She enjoyed knitting. She and Ron loved and cared for about 15 foster babies while raising their own children. Her joy in life was being a #1 fan of her children and grandchildren. She never missed a game, bout, play, or match. Colleen was also an unofficial Shevil Knevil of the Brewcity Bruisers.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate monetary donations to Clarke Street School or school supplies and new/gently used children’s books for classrooms.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 5:45 PM. Funeral service at 6:00 PM.
The family would appreciate Covid protocol by wearing masks.
