Daniel Shadd

Passed on Thursday, March 21, 2019, at age 92 from heart complications. Loving husband of Margaret for 42 years. Dear father of Ann Shadd-Wirkuty and grandfather to Kenneth, Grace and Leland. Cherished grandfather of Lynne Pelzek and Michael Diefenbach, and great-grandaughter Elizabeth Rath. Beloved brother of Marjorie Shadd. Special brother of LeRoy, Ralph and Irwin Shadd (all deceased) and kind step-father of Sharon Pelzek (deceased). Treasured uncle of Elizabeth Hovey and husband, Al. Also loved by cousin Jane Ryan, cousin Ann Schimmer and husband Don, more family and many, many friends. 

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin on Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 10:00 AM – 11:45 AM. Service to follow.

Born in Milwaukee, Dan enlisted in the U.S. Marines at 17. As a Corporal in World War II, he earned a Purple Heart. Dan went on to a lifelong career in engineering. He helped found Universal Telephone Company where he worked for 40 years. He worked for its subsidiaries too where he was Vice President and President in locations including Oahu, Hawaii, Milwaukee, and Zuni, New Mexico. Dan also served as District Manager of Toast Masters Club. Dan enjoyed gardening, computers, bird watching, polka dancing, woodworking such as making furniture, and Wii bowling with his friends at Sacred Heart. But, most of all, he enjoyed life with his best friend and wife, Margaret.
