David G. Thompson

David G. Thompson – Entered God’s loving arms on September 5th, 2023, at the age of 29, after a long, hard fight with Leukemia.  

Cherished son of Gary and Cathy Thompson. Loving brother to Joe (Ashlee) Thompson. Devoted uncle to Ellie Thompson. Beloved grandson to Tom and Evelyn Shanahan. Joined in Heaven with his grandmother, Audrey Thompson. Further loved by aunts and uncles: Linda Gierach, Marcia Tutsch, Michael Thompson, Debra Listau, Tommy (Chris) Shanahan, Karen (John) Bauer and many dear cousins. Further survived by close friends and extended family. Forever missed by his beloved dog, Cheyanne. 

David was a graduate of UW-Whitewater and had a passion for his profession as a safety engineer.  He loved all things outdoors, including hunting, fishing and trapshooting. He had many stories of the ‘ones that got away.’  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had an amazing sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin from 4:00 PM to 5:45 PM. Service to follow at 6:00 PM.

Committal prayers and entombment will take place the following morning, Thursday, September 14^th at Prairie Home Cemetery, 605 South Prairie Avenue, Waukesha, Wisconsin at 10:00 AM and is open to all friends and family. Please meet inside cemetery gates near office building.

The family would like to invite anyone who would like to join them to walk in honor and remembrance of David at the Light the Night Walk for Leukemia and Lymphoma, on Thursday, October 5^th, 6:30 PM (Opening Ceremony @7:00 PM) at Henry Maier Festival Park.
