Died peacefully at his home Friday, March 5, 2021. David served in the United States Army in Korea where he was recognized as an expert marksman. Former husband of Nancy(nee Hahn) Burnam. The couple had an infant son Daniel Steven who died after 4 months. David is survived by his loving daughter Dorinda (Jeff ) Himmelsbach and loving son Wesley (Laura). Loved grandpa of Jeffrey and Janelle. Precious great-grandfather of Liam and Ava. David is further survived by his elder brother Bob (Judi) Burnam and the late Cleora Ann (Ed) Morrissey. Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives, and friends. David was preceded in death by parents Leo and Lillian (nee Mott).
David was a journeyman meat cutter, earning his apprenticeship at Towne Meats of Milwaukee and later was a carpet installer. His skill as a carpet and vinyl installer led to the operation of a successful retail and wholesale flooring business, he operated with his business partner, Carpets and Vinyl of Waukesha. David had a passion for gardening, loved to fish and collect antiques; he also was an ardent supporter of auto racing, serving as a crew member for both Modified and late model teams that campaigned at area short tracks.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 3:00 PM – 6:15 PM with a celebration of life at 6:30 PM.
