Left his loving family on October 8, 2008, at the age of 82. Father of his most beloved son Dennis, who preceded him in death. Survived by his wife Jeanette, and daughters Vicki and Janice. A proud United States Navy veteran who served in WWII on PT Boat 659 in the Pacific Theater, and aboard the hospital ship USS Consolation during the Korean Conflict. David was a man of the sea and of the air. His love of the water was evident in his enjoyment of scuba diving, sailboat racing and fishing, as well as his choice to serve in the US Navy. As an avid small plane pilot, an early member of the Experimental Aircraft Association and as an amateur astronomer, he was fascinated by all aspects of aviation and space exploration. For him, there was nothing better than being in the air. He was a master woodworker and his consummate skill as a craftsman could not have been more apparent as he built his own Kingfisher amphibian airplane. David was a lifetime member of the United Church of Christ at the Immanuel Reformed UCC in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and the Union Congregational UCC in Tavares, Florida, where he was a dedicated servant to his Lord and to those congregations. Memorial Service Monday, October 13, 1:00 PM, at Wisconsin Memorial Park, Little Chapel of the Flowers, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of the Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Union Congregational UCC, Tavares, Florida, are appreciated.
