Deborah D. Kaye

Mrs. Deborah Darlene Kaye, the daughter of the late Margree and Charlie Sharp, was born on July 15, 1957. She was called home to glory on August 31, 2023. 

Born and raised in Dyer County, Tennessee, she attended Dyersburg High School and graduated in 1975. Following high school, Deborah furthered her education at the Dyersburg Community College. She completed her associate degree in Secretarial Science in 1977, moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin following graduation.

Deborah began her career with Milwaukee County Department of Health and Human Services in 1984. She worked 27 years, holding various positions within the department, before Milwaukee County DHHS was restructured, in 2012. She continued her dedicated service to the residents and community of Milwaukee County as a State of Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services employee until she retired on June 30, 2023, after 39 years of service.  

Lovingly referred to as “Mrs. Kaye,” Deborah was a faithful member of the Christian Faith Fellowship Church, actively attending until her health began to fail. She was a baking enthusiast, sharing her perfected banana nut bread with all, an avid reader, and passionate about her two dogs, “Rocky” and “Sophie,” caring for both until their passing. As a staunch defender of disability rights, she frequently spoke against injustices. Others will remember her as a trusted friend and true confidant.

She leaves to celebrate her legacy her loving husband, Paul F. Kaye, to whom she was united in holy matrimony on July 12, 2008. One daughter Ms. Alexandria Danielle Summitt; three stepchildren, Mrs. Tiffany (Greg) Bollis, Mr. Paul (Tricia) Kaye, Jr., and Mrs. Brenda (James) Mensching. One sister, Mrs. Callie (Calvin) Gray, and two brothers, Mr. Jimmy Sharp and Mr. John Eddie (Sharon) Sharp. Nine step-grandchildren, two godchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and a host of dear friends.

Visitation to take place on Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 11:00 AM – 12:45 PM, followed by a service at 1:00 PM, at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
