Of New Berlin died on the morning of November 3rd, 2014. He was born May 7th, 1984 in West Allis, the son of Gerald and Lynn Haines.
Derek was a beloved son, father, uncle, brother, and friend. He was a kind hearted soul filled with so much love to give. He always gave his time, his love, and his energy to everyone he met. He enjoyed time with family and weight lifting. Derek enjoyed socializing and sharing many stories of his childhood and life's adventures. We will all sure miss the sound of his voice and his long conversations filled with reflection and future aspiration. Derek was loyal, kind, and passionate, and we are thankful and proud to have known him. Though he was taken early in life, his legacy will resonate from the experiences and memories we shared with him. We will look forward to the day we meet him again, but until then he will continue keeping watch over us.
Derek is survived by his loving parents Gerald and Lynn (Eggum) Haines; his sister Nicole and his brother Brent. He also leaves his beautiful children Alexis and Julia, his grandparents Robert and Breta Haines, his special niece Addison, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Derek is preceded in death by his grandparent Donald and Joyce Eggum.
Private services will be held with close family and friends. We thank you for support and kind words during this very difficult time.
