Donald John Miller, 93, of Hartland, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, which was also the date of his 93rd birthday. Donald (“Don”) was born on April 19, 1929 in Greendale, the oldest of three children. He graduated from Greendale High School and served in the United States Military during the Korean War and then continued to serve his country as a reservist in the Wisconsin National Guard for many years.
Don married the love of his life, Lorraine (née Wesolowski). They were married for 56 years until her death on April 8, 2008. Together they shared a love of the outdoors, traveled frequently, enjoyed playing golf together, and created countless fond family memories at their beloved summer lake cabin.
Don had a long career in the financial services industry and worked at several firms, including The Milwaukee Company, Smith Barney and eventually retired as a Vice President at Merrill Lynch.
Beginning in 1979, Don was an active member of the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. For decades, Commandeur Miller was the master of ceremonies for numerous Milwaukee chapter Chapitres celebrating and promoting the wines of Burgundy, France. Don also actively enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing with family and friends.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Eleanore (Czeck) Miller, by his brother Gerold Miller and his sister Judith Poredos. He is survived by his children Paul and Mark (and spouse Anne); grandchildren Zoe, Max and Eliza Miller; and several nieces and nephews.
