Age 90. Died August 27, 2009, following a long illness. Beloved husband of Ethel. Proud father of Karen (Dan Giernoth). Dear grandfather of Quinn (Ernest Olivier); nephews Dana, Peter, David and Terry Timmer and their families as well as other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents William and Bessie Michaelis, Eagle, Wisconsin; sister Lauree (Olaf Timmer) and nephew Robert Timmer of Santa Barbara, California and nephew Thomas Timmer of Northern California. Don was born in Eagle, Wisconsin and moved to Milwaukee in 1947. Don served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 1 year and with the United States Air Force in the South Pacific during WWII as a co-pilot on a B24 for 37 missions. He was employed for 37 years as a tool designer and later as manager, manufacturing development, tractor division, Allis Chalmers, retiring in 1984. Don was a member of Excelsior Lodge #175 F&AM. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinal and Green Bay Packer fan. He will be dearly missed by family and friends. Visitation at the Funeral Home Tuesday, September 1, 10:00-11:00 AM. Funeral Service 11:00 AM by Lake Lodge #189 F&AM, followed by religious service.
