“Don” “Pizza Man” passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2018, at the age of 73. Don is survived by his loving family, including his wife Kathleen (nee Karr), son Jim (Kaili Richey), daughter Laura (Mark) Webster, son Donald Jr (Amanda), and daughter Ashley (Ted Horstick). He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren; Ailish, Beylen, Eila and Kieren; Seamus and Aine; Ellie and Kendall; and Ryley. Don is preceded in death by two brothers, Steve and John, parents Frank and Edith (nee Rassmussen) and in-laws Jim and Virginia Karr. He is further survived by his brother George (Sue), sister-in-laws, Christine and Margaret, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Don passed while doing one of his great loves, coaching. He was a teacher, mentor and coach of basketball, football, golf and other sports at New Berlin Eisenhower for over 50 years. In addition to teaching physical education and coaching, Don enjoyed participating in many sports, especially handball. His ultimate passion was his family and he enjoyed spending time with them in Northern Wisconsin and Florida. Memories shared there will always be cherished and great sources of comfort for his family.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Friday, June 8th, 2018, 3:00 PM – 6:15 PM with a vigil to follow from 6:30 PM – 7:00 PM.
