Passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 13, 2018, at age 93. Beloved husband of Elizabeth J. Sauer (nee Burbey) for 71 years. Loving father of Mary (Mark) Wilke, William F. (Joan) Sauer, the late Edward J. (Dee) Sauer, and Carol A. (Pat) Kroon. Proud grandfather of 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.Continue Reading

Ed was my great uncle and I always called him "Uncle Ed." As a kid, I enjoyed his visits in Wisconsin and Florida or when we visited him in Tennessee. Card games among the group were a treat. I admired how he and my grandfather could fix things, e.g. toys and games I might break. Being from Florida, I did not know much about labor unions, but he told me about it. A great guy to have as a great uncle.
