Edward William Wenzler, a faithful man of God, was born February 17, 1954 and taken home to be with Jesus on November 8, 2008. Every element of Ed's life revealed his great heart of love for God, for his family, friends and all others he encountered. He leaves his wife, Georgine, his son Christopher and his wife Lisa, his son Michael, his father and mother William and Dolores Wenzler, his sister Deborah Wenzler Farris and her husband Todd Farris, his brother John Wenzler and his wife Karrie Psuik Wenzler, his sister Joan Wenzler Slocum and her husband Arthur Slocum, his mother-in-law Georgia Eggert, his sister-in-law Roberta Eggert Rich and her husband Greg Rich, his brother-in-law Chuck and his wife Debbie Eggert, his sister-in-law Mary Eggert and her husband Tom Rekoske, his brother-in-law Matthew Eggert, and nephews and nieces; Charles Grimes, Kelsey, Taylor, Shelby and Kira Slocum, Jessica and Amanda Eggert, Andrew Rich and Calder Rekoske. Ed also leaves behind numerous dear friends, co-workers who will carry on and clients who will mourn his loss. Ed graduated from UWM School of Architecture in 1978 and after working as a designer for a Texas architectural firm, he returned to Milwaukee in 1979 to work with his father. Ed became president of Wenzler Architects in 1991 taking on the major responsibilities of design and management of the firm. In 2006, his son Christopher also graduated from UWM School of Architecture and became a member of Wenzler Architects. There was great joy that three generations were working at the firm together. A celebration of Ed's life will take place Saturday, November 15th, at Eastbrook Church, 5353 North Green Bay Avenue, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. and the celebration service will take place at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be given to Eastbrook Church Neighborhood Learning Center.
