Eleanore was a devoted and hard working member of Holy Apostles Parish for more than 50 years. She worked as a school teacher there for 26 years and tutored many students on an individual bases after her retirement. She obtained her teaching degree from Alverno College going to night school and summer school while she continued working.
Eleanore was active in the “handy hands” group, sodality, and very active planning and working at the annual parish festival. She also was a regular volunteer at the Friday night fish fry and many other parish activities.
She also had many hobbies. She was a quite good amateur artist and many friends and relatives had her paintings hanging in their homes. She also reupholstered furniture. No project was too large or too complicated for her and again many friends and relatives had furniture in their home that she had reupholstered. After upholstering became too difficult for her, she turned her talents to window treatments and did this work for many people. Today there are still many homes that have windows done by Eleanore. All this was done without compensation, but just for the joy of doing good work.
She loved her family and loved to vacation and party with all of them. She loved to play cards, sheephead, cribbage, 500, and sixty-six being some of her favorites.
Eleanore certainly had a positive impact on many people during her life and she will be missed by many.
