Ella Belle Corine Miller was born in the small town of Muncie, Indiana. Her parents gave her an appreciation of reading and music. She shared that love with her family and friends throughout her life. She moved to Milwaukee, WI and began a new life in a large city. With a strong faith and love for God, Ella was very active at Incarnation Lutheran Church, singing in the choir, teaching Sunday School, Sunday School Superintendent and Parish Administrator, tutor and mentor. She worked at Milwaukee Post Office while raising her young family, then began teaching at Milwaukee Public Schools. Ella retired in 1992 after almost 25 years in the teaching profession. She continued her commitment to children and community by becoming Scout leader with her husband James for many years. She was a volunteer with St. Ann’s Intergenerational Center, in recent years until the pandemic began. Ella enjoyed music, extensive travel, reading and sang in several community choirs. A loving, giving and caring person, Ella was very active in the community and a positive catalyst for change throughout her life.
Ella was preceded in death by her husband, James, parents, sisters Tena, Norma & Margie, brother Otis Jr. & son, Kenneth She is loved and survived by her children, grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
