Died Tuesday July 31, 2018 at the age of 89. Devoted husband of Henriette (Nee Ferguson) for 61 years. Loving father of Linda (James) Brison, Ellard (Janice) Lamb III and Mabel Lamb-Stewart. Proud grandpa of Tonya, Megan, Alexandra, Henry Ishmael, and Ellard IV. Great-grandpa of Ramond and Mechel. Brother of Irma Walker and James Odell Lamb. Brother in-law of Helen Lamb Hampton. Alexander (Adrena), Sterling, Dr. Joseph, Kenneth (Darnita), Charles (Marie)Ferguson, Lou Edna Vaughn. Preceded in death by his Parents, Ellard Sr. and Queen Etta Moore Lamb, brothers Jessie, Albert, Ernest, Felton, Fulton, sisters Mabel and Ruby. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Ellard was an avid builder, nicknamed the “Hammer”. He enjoyed being a handyman at home. Supervised the construction of many houses in Milwaukee subdivisions. He became the first African American City Of Milwaukee Construction Building Inspector in the late 1960’s. He was responsible for the Northridge Mall Project, and the Bradley Center.
The family is grateful for the extreme professional care given by the staff at Columbia St. Mary Hospital, Emergency E.R. and at 6 West, his primary care physician Dr. Brett Twente and Urologist/ Oncologist Dr. Peter Slocum.
Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 9000 West Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Tuesday, August 7th, 2018, 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM. Celebration of Life Service at 6:30 PM. Interment Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
