Nee Walsh. Passed away peacefully on March 12, 2017, at age 89. Devoted wife of the late Leo Gilbert Stewart. Beloved mother of Diane (Larry) Moore, Linda (Jeff) Altheide, David (Andrea) Stewart and the late Robert Leo Stewart who died in infancy. My sister Mary Kay called me and gave me the sad news that your dear Mother, and our Aunt Ellen had died. I can't even begin to express my deep sympathy when you lose someone so dear to your heart. I always loved Aunt Ellen so much. She was a very special person. I don't think she had a mean bone in her body. I always felt that we were in for a treat the few times we would get to visit your home. Your Mother would offer us kids a "soda". I would think what is a soda? We always called it pop. Anyways we were always taught to refuse any offer of treats. But your Mom gave us a glass of it anyways. I really liked that! She would also write me a long letter at Christmas which I looked forward to. We all know we are going to die but it does not make it any easier to say good bye to your dear Mother.We have to remember it is only temporary. We will all be together someday. I believe your Mom is in Heaven with your Dad and my Dad and Uncle Leonard and I could go on and on but I can't see because I am crying. I am just sorry to all of you for your great loss. But again loss is just a word. You didn't lose her. I love you and the whole family.

The best "neighbor-Mom" a girl could ask for - Mrs. Stewart always had a welcoming home and heart, even when she wouldn't let Linda and I jump on Diane's bed ( at which point we thought it would be OK to jump on David's). Good thing she had a sense of humor. A wonderful lady who will live forever in my heart and memories. <3
