Richard Erickson, known to family and friends as “Red,” entered eternal life on September 10, 2018, at the age of 83 years.
Red was a member of the Ironworkers Local Union #8 for 50+ years. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and trapshooting. He especially enjoyed his Lake Erie fishing trips with family and close friends. He was also a member of several bowling leagues and enjoyed traveling to various competitive tournaments with his teammates, while bringing home numerous trophies.
Loving father of Randall (Nancy) Erickson, Lucinda Erickson, Robert Erickson, Susan Erickson, Sandra (Michael) Schoba, the late Ronald Erickson, Daughter-in-Law Carol Erickson, and his former wife, Marlene (Thomas) Mather. He is further survived by fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.Brother of Evelyn Porter. Preceded in death by siblings: Morris, Verlon, James, John D., Tillman, and Alice “Toots” Schlinsog. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 12401 West National Avenue New Berlin, Wisconsin, on Thursday, September 20, from 3:00-4:45 P.M. The service will be held at 5:00 P.M. followed by a reception (repass). The burial will take place at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, September 21, at the Town of Lynn Cemetery.
