(Nee Kutsche) Of Milwaukee, age 95. Passed away Tuesday, August24, 2010, at the Kathy Hospice in West Bend, WI. Esther was bornon August 13, 1915 to Paul and Anna Kutsche in Milwaukee, WI.After graduating from Riverside High School with honors in Milwaukee she worked for the Electric Company. She married Herbert W. Dreger on January 2, 1938, in Toronto, Canada. They lived in Milwaukee and moved to Brookfield into one of the many houses that Herbert built. Over the years she worked as a legal secretary, and as a realtor for Wauwatosa Realty. She went to her open houses dressed up in pumps and would end up mowing the lawn or cleaning. She was frequently a member of the Million Dollar Sellers Club. As an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Brookfield, Esther participated in many clubs and service projects, including sewing quilts for palliative care. She started and served as the director of the Senior Group at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, and she loved to be involved in activity and to stir things up, whether it was playing her accordion for a party, learning and teaching new skills or doing crafts, going on senior trips or dressing up as Santa Claus. The past five years she lived at Luther Haven in Milwaukee. Esther is survived by her sister, Dorothy Nickel of Milwaukee; her son, Donald (Mary) of Arbor Vitae, WI, and their 2 children: Sarah (Jonathan) Meyer of Edina, MN, and Neil Dreger and his fiance Laura Loredo of Churchville, NY; her daughter, Sandra (James) Becker of Madison, WI and their 4 children: Patrick Becker of Madison, WI, Heidi (Brian)Oberbeck of Louisville, CO, Brian (Cathy) Becker of Marshall, WI and Renee (Jestin) Becker of Middleton, WI; and 3 great-grandchildren Cody Oberbeck and Brianna and Holly Becker; nieces and nephews, and many grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Anna Kutsche; her husband, Herbert; brother, Henry and sister, Lucille.Memorial Services will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH,134th and Hampton, Brookfield at 11AM on Saturday, August 28, at11AM. Friends may call from 10AM until the time of service.Private burial at Wisconsin Memorial Park. The family would like to thank the staff at the Kathy Hospice for their superlative care given to Esther during her last days. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, the Kathy Hospice or the charity of your choice.
