Former Cedarburg resident Ethel Wells died Tuesday, September 6, at Luther Manor in Milwaukee.Mrs. Wells, who lived at the nursing home for four years, was 86. She had been under hospice care for several weeks.She was born September 20, 1924, in Turtle Lake, the daughter of Rudolph and Mathilda Koser Krueger. After growing up in northern Wisconsin, Mrs. Wells spent most of her adult life in the Milwaukee area, where she owned and operated a restaurant for several years.In 2002, Mrs. Wells moved to Cedarburg, where she was a member of First Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was an active volunteer with women's groups at the church and Lasata Care Center before moving to Luther Manor in 2008.Mrs. Wells is survived by her sister Renata (Richard) Johnson of Las Cruces, N.M.; stepdaughter Barbara Wells Sauer of Kalamazoo, Michigan; stepson LeRoy (Lillie) Wells Schard of Milwaukee; three step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; brother John Krueger; sisters Alma Ostermann, Ida Steadman and Lillian Krueger; and two husbands, Harland Webster and LeRoy Wells.Mrs. Wells' body was cremated. There will be no funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later date.Krause Funeral Home of Milwaukee is assisting the family.Memorials to Bethesda Lutheran Communities are suggested.
