Joined his beloved Wife Sandy, Wednesday October 19, 2016 at the age of 78. Warmhearted Dad of Deanna (Mike) McLaren, Gregory (Marie) Zarling and Jean (Christopher) Kraft. Proud grandpa of Joshua Zarling, Jessica (Gregory) Rupnick, Kristen and Colleen McLaren, Emma, Benjamin and Adam Kraft. Dear Brother of Ronald (Ardith) Zarling. Also loved by nieces, other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin, Monday, October 24th, 2016 from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Private interment on Tuesday, October 25th, 2016.

Gene was a long time employee of the City of Milwaukee.

Sorry and sad that Gene is no longer with us. I knew Gene and Sandy at West Division High School and played guitar in our combo, "The Fortunaires." I moved to St. Paul MN in September 1957 and lost touch but had a brief visit with him and Gene Franks in 2007; I should have seen Gene again thereafter to share the many fond memories I have of our all-too-brief time together. Condolences to Gene's family and friends.
