(nee Holly) Passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021, at the age of 92.

 

She was born November 28, 1928, in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Maria Holly. She married William Merkel on May 22, 1954. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2000.
Loving mother of Laura (John) Schmidbauer and Mark (Suzette) Merkel. Proud grandma of Jonalee (Adam) Kuhn, Jake (Amber) Merkel, James (Aubrie) Merkel, and Stefanie (Ryan) Denu. Great-grandma of Mya, Elijah, Branson, Elliana, Amelia, and Alaina.

 

Frances loved to bake. She had her start in candy dipping. She was known for her homemade apple pie and nut horns. She was also an avid reader. She spent countless hours reading mysteries, romance novels, and biographies. Frances loved watching old classic movies but would occasionally indulge in a soap opera.

 

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Wisconsin Memorial Park Chapel of the Chimes, 13235 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Service will begin at 2:00 PM.
