Funeral Service 7:00 PM.Francis began his career as a labor superintendent in 1945 at Froeming Ship Yard. In 1979 his title was Assistant Secretary, Plant Manager and Chief Dispatcher at Central Redi-Mix's State Street plant. His duties included supervising personnel, hiring, training, and evaluating work performance (30 to 200 employees: steel workers, truck drivers, maintenance, office, engineers, mechanics, and laborers), directing inventories to include new equipment and its pricing, used equipment and its grading, pricing and scrapping, reporting data to the Maritime Commission, including on-site supervision of tests, negotiating labor contracts as a member of the negotiating committee for Redi-Mix concrete operators with Local 200, participating in management decisions concerning acquisition of additional plants, being responsible for payroll, accident and health reports, truck fleet maintenance and repair, promoting sales of product through direct contact with customers and coordinating production and delivery of product which also included advising customers of their needs for the job and supervising on-site personnel to insure that those needs were met.A "Gal Friday" is described as one whose talents are used in many areas to effectively run the office on a day-to-day basis. Francis was a "Mr. Saturday", whose dedication and versatility contributed to the successful operation of his employer's business for a period of 35 years. His qualifications were dependability, loyalty and integrity.He attended St. John's Cathedral grade school in Milwaukee, Pio Nono High School in St. Francis and Marquette University for one year until he was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served with pride.As a member of the Parent's Committee, he was instrumental in receiving continued funding for the Children's Treatment Center in Madison for the autistic and handicapped. He worked with government officials to implement the continuation of this center. He also assisted Willow Glen Academy in its endeavor to open a home for autistic children in Milwaukee. He supported and assisted Dr. Robert Browning and Dr. Daniel Stover in their studies of his son, John. These studies were the major source of research for their book, "Behavior Modification".In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family appreciated.
