Mr. Frank Howard Godbolt was born February 26, 1939 in Bogue Chittom Mississippi to the union of Willie and Lucille Godbolt. Frank accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age.
Frank recieved his formal education in Lincoln Country Public School System in Bogue Chitto, MS. Soon thereafter, he joined the United States Airforce in 1956.
Frank was a highly favored member of the Clinton Rose Senior Citizen program where he loved to socialize and play cards. He was a huge sports fan. He always looked forward to watching college and professional games on TV.
To know Frank was to love Frank. He’d spend time singing and laughing with his grandchildren, and watching one of his favorite shows on TV: “Sanford and Son”. It was from this show that he adopted the phrase “you big dummy” as a natural quotation to people in his presence, which brought laughter to everyone around him. Frank was employed by General Motors (Chrysler) where he retired as a welder in 2000.
Frank found peace on Monday, December 26, 2016. He was preceded in death by his only son, Michele Hughes of Miami, Florida; his parents, Willie and Lucille Godbolt; sisters, Glenda, Marilyn, Janis and Juanita (Peggy); brothers, Willie Ray Godbolt (Buck) and Melvin Godbolt.
He leaves to cherish his memory: four daughters, Marilyn LaDette Madison, Kimberly Godbolt, Tamika Godbolt, and Shauntay (Preacher Laray) Butler; one adopted daughter, La Tasha Carter; ten grandchildren, Dion, Jesse, Cameron, Feja, Nicholas, Jaida, Kenyia, Jalen, Chayse, Kemari, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Frank was known to his his family as “Jitta” and will forever and always remain in our hearts.
