Fred was born in Marshfield, Wisconsin, on July 3, 1925, a son of the late John J. and Caroline F. (nee Arndt) Stoiber. He attended local schools and later joined the U.S. Army. Fred proudly served his country during World War II and was stationed in Northern France and central europe. He was awarded numerous decorations and medals before his honorable discharge in 1946. In his working years, Fred was employed by the U.S. Postal Service and was also a gifted finish carpenter, having worked for Wolter Brothers for many years. In his retirement, Fred continued his love of woodworking. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, and also clipped many a good coupon. Fred and his wife traveled throughout the U.S. and had also visited England and Ireland. His greatest joy however, was spending time with his family. He will be sadly missed.
