Gale is survived by siblings Dennis (Doris) Schaff of Grafton, WI, Alan Schaff of Las Vegas, NV, Eileen (Donn) Dennis of Portland, OR and sister-in-law, Peggy Schaff of Milwaukee, WI. She is further survived by niece Camille (Tim) Marking, their children Destinee and Hunter, niece Shonda Schaff, nephews Daniel Schaff and Jacob Schaff (godson), along with many other relatives. Gale was born July 27, 1949, in Milwaukee, WI, to Peter and Margaret Schaff (Schulz). Gale graduated from Mercy High School in 1967 and pursued a nursing degree at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, graduating in 1971. She started her career as an RN at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, later holding posts in Wisconsin and Texas. A career change saw her serving as a medical procedure approval specialist in Texas and then in Nevada, where she retired. In March of 2015, Gale suffered a stroke, which disabled her and required entrance into an assisted living facility.
Gale was an accomplished photographer who often served as the family’s “official picture taker” before her stroke. Gale was an avid reader. She loved all type of books and any printed material she could get her hands on. Gale had an ardent interest in community safety and law enforcement, and she participated in police department ride-along programs in several cities. Gale loved to travel when able and immersed herself in CD’s and DVD’s when physical travel was no longer an option.
A private ceremony will be held by family members.
