Gary Alan Schoenike

Age 74, was greeted at the finish line by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, April 14, 2023. Preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Adeline (Abegglen) Schoenike. Beloved husband of Lorene “Lory” Jannes. Loving father of Lara (Jon) Simon, Karl (Dena) Schoenike, Alan (Laura) Schoenike and stepdaughter Jill (Robert) Polivka. Devoted grandfather of Nate, Chloe, Bailey, Lily, Ella Rose, Owen and Haley. Dear brother of Vicki Walker, Marcia (Roger) Seefeldt and Leslie (Christopher) Betthauser. Gary will be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Special thanks to the Congregational Home and Legacy Hospice for their exceptional care of Gary.

Gary served 20 years in the United States Air Force and taught Mathematics at St. John’s Northwestern Academy for another 20 years.

Memorial Gathering Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Krause Funeral Home,  21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, Wisconsin from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM. Memorial Service at 3:00 PM.

Having grown up in a little central Wisconsin town and spending most of my youth outside, I thought I possessed an appreciation and love of the outdoors until I met Gary. Loving every day with the sun warming his face, the wind buffeting tree leaves and his hair, the green plants shivering and the constant movement of animals around him, even the simplest thing like a morning breath of fresh air, all these things and so many more Gary brought into focus for me. Touched and enriched my life, everyone’s life. Such an accepting, loving, deeply caring man. Bless Gary and his family. You have it all gloried in heaven, Gary.
